Homesite 4.52Dreamweaver 4Photoshop 6

Macromedia Homesite is a very intuitive editor. If you dream HTML & Co. than this is your application. In my opinion it's always the best program of all. The best way seems to code the templates in Homesite and to fill with content in Dreamweaver.
Macromedia Dreamweaver is on the first look chaos program (like Gimp). It's not as intuitive as Homesite, but you can see what you are doing. Especially if you write content it's a very good thing to control your typography if you fill in your content in your Homesite templates. A great thing is the ability to change between the two web editors Homesite and Dreamweaver, who is built in since a long time. A great feature in this WYSIWYG Program's like Dreamweaver are there DHTML Features. A second feature of this program's came first only with the Dreamweaver, the care of the developers hand made code.
Adobe Photoshop is the state on the art imagine software. But there is a long way to learning. Non of the other competitors ever can reach Photoshop, but sometimes the free GNU/Linux GIMP may be a real competitor. Photoshop is at this time ready for the web. You now can make your web graphics smaller in the built in Image Ready. And after long waiting there is now a vector ability in this great program

The are other and also some smaller applications too.
Also a smaller Application wich comes from Bradsoft is called Bradsoft TopStyle Pro. This is a cool Editor for Cascading Style Sheets from the former Developer of Homesite.
I would announce the very intuitive Ulead Gif Animator here. If you like to build Animation's, there are always gif's a good choice. If you combine them with DHTML may the force be with you.
The other well known program for applications is Macromedia Flash. I don't know many sites I come back again to revisit this all the same animation's again after first showing. But shoud be some areas it would be usefull (e.g. to impress people). A other thing could be Shockwave. This protocol is small enough to be cool.
