DragonCon 1999

Stefan's Whine

There was a beautiful women, named Maggie, passing out flyers to a popular bar in Atlanta. She was dressed in a sexy white jumper and a fluorescent red wig - I recognized her from the bar and the cover of a local entertainment weekly. I thought she was so beautiful that I asked to take her picture - She rudely barked No!

She actually barked at me!

I didn't take her picture.

Now some people are shy and I can respect that. Others don't want a picture of themselves, half naked, floating around the internet and I can respect that too. I met a very nice whited haired beauty who smiled and said she didn't like her photo to be taken - I respected her wishes. I can even respect people who want to be paid - I won't - but I can respect it.

It's their face - They're doing me a favor - I understand that.

But Maggie? A performer? Practically a model! That was just plain rude

I was really disappointed. I mean what a missed opportunity! If she'd been nice, I would have a great picture and a great plug for the bar. Instead I'm pissed off enough to dedicate a whole page about it!

What's more - a few minutes later I overheard her whining about what a miserable time she's having, how much aggravation she's received, and how much stress she's built up all night.

Gee, I have so much sympathy - - NOT!

Lady! You brought it on yourself!

Other people were friendly, polite, and even posed for my pictures. They seem to be having a great time. I'll bet some of them even received some gratifying recognition for their nice outfits and/or costumes. Nobody rolls out of bed beautiful - It takes work. If you don't want to participate that's fine, but you don't have to be rude.

Maggie, What do you suppose they are doing right: that you're doing wrong?

When someone wants your picture, take it as a compliment. It means they find you attractive or interesting enough to spend their money on film and developing to save your image - Forever. If you think they're making fun of you or being disrespectful - You're the one with the problem!.

The bottom line - a little courtesy goes a long way.

DragonCon is a fun event with really nice people - Get over yourself and Join the Party!

Enough whining - Take me back to the DragonCon99 Review

There's no reason to punish a great bar because of one person's rudeness so here's a little free publicity after all. This should have been a full page plug with pictures.

The Chamber- Billed as Atlanta's only FETISH club, is located on Cheshire Bridge road. This year they let conventioneers in free with a DragonCon 1999 badge. If you go, and see Maggie, tell her what you read here.
