The earliest forms of art consisted of fertility symbols. Throughout history, an emphasis on fertility has been consistent, though it is certainly arguable what art is. What is tasteful , or what is considered appropriate for the public and and what is appropriate for the private, has changed, is changing, and will continue to change. Fertility , to reiterate, is, and will likely continue to be, a Big Thing TM . I, for one, certainly hope so, for the sake of the continuity of our species, that is.
