Throbbers are the animations provided by Microsoft and Netscape on your browser to divert you when you are waiting for a page to download.

But, are you diverted ? After all, maybe you've spend altogether more time waiting than surfing...

This is where I get into the picture...

ThrobIt! is a program that allows you to change the animation. Currently at version 1.3.3, this program does the work for Microsoft Internet Explorer and for Netscape Navigator.

To the left is a snapshot of my own browser, as of today... And to the right, what I had before...

Installation is very easy:

1. Without further delay, download the program.
2. Unpack the ZIP file in a temporary directory and execute the SETUP.EXE program.
3. Follow the instructions given by the installation wizard.
4. Then, go to any member of the Throbbers Web Ring and download some animations.
5. Unzip the files (you can put them in the Throbit! directory).

Execution is even easier:

1. Run the program (don't forget to check for viruses before the 1^st time !)
2. Open the throbber files and have a preview.
3. Install it.
4. All what's left to do is to run the browser.

Since Netscape and Microsoft made things nearly impossible for me, I have discontinued the program maintenance for a long time. Amazingly, people have tried it on many MSIE versions and they have let me know that. That's why there is a new version on the way.

As far as I know, Throbit! cannot damage your browser functionability.
