Where are you now?
Do you still remember me and smile
or does my memory bring you only tears?
Do you still keep the faith;
secure in the knowledge
that I will return to you?
Some day,
somehow
I’m coming back to you!
That is the one thing that keeps me going,
I fight; day by day,
struggling for each inch I gain;
to return to you
Please say you’re waiting for me..
Or has your hope worn thin?
Do you even remember me at all?
Am I now a ghost of the past,
a half-forgotten face
that occasionally haunts your dreams,
but is dismissed in daylight?
Or are you continuing my fight
against the forces of darkness
threatening to overwhelm?
Do you, too, struggle on,
with only your memories
to comfort?
Two sides of the same coin,
we’re not that different
So, I choose to think of you
leading the fight,
brave and strong;
everyone’s rock
I know you won’t disappoint me!
So when I return, I will ease your burden
help you shoulder your responsibilities.
I will return to you;
We will be together again,
I promise you!
