Kostya Sebov: School

My story

I graduated from the 25th Zhitomir Secondary School then named after hero of the Russian Civil War Schors. By the way I graduated with Gold Medal, which mean I had only the highest grades in my diploma.

Actually that was the third secondary school where I studied, however all the 10 school years we lived in the same appartment. The first one (#34) was the official school I have to attend (registered for my address of living) when I was 7. It was very far away from home because our multy-flat house has just been built and there wasn't any school nearby. It took me 40 minutes or so to get to school, quite long for a 7-year-old. The things was even more difficult because we have very strong 1977-1978 winter.

The second school (#14) opened when I was to go for the 3rd grade. I studied there till the 8th one and had reputation of almost the first student, which wins each and every Olymiad (student's competition) from Russian Litherature to Geograhy, from Endlish (foreign) to Math and Physics. The only always difficult subject for me was the Physical training. I was growing later than others so always remained the last one.

I entered the 25th school, which was concidered the top school in the city having failed to enter the Zhitomir Medical (Nursing) Colledge for health reasons. The thing was not that I have weak health, it was that I applied for the special group that was to be trained for army and they sorted out my partial color-blindness.

The first studying quarter in the 25th was a nighmare to me. Everyone in the school from the first teacher to the last pupil has been testing the newcommer for how he would keep up with the school's level. I, however kept up well-- I was quite strong on Math and was just superiop on the Informatics (the subject that had been intoduced to the schools), so I deserved the respect of teachers and the rest of thetime is quite pleasant to remember.

Sometimes I'll make a real page devoted to my school and my class (the ones who graduated in 1987). If someone has anything related to this I'd gladly accept any assistance.

And, by the way, if you have also graduated from the 25th, you should know that our school has bad times now. The government spendings were cut and now they merely cover teacher's salary, which (you might guess!) are not so big numbers. They lack money to buy books and equipment, to make summer bulding repair. If you're financially capable, please help them! They really need that
