Asia describes her first day on the FF set (an interview with Disney).
"When you're on a set for the first time for the first
day of a new production, you're usually a little bit nervous
because you don't know these people, and you don't know how
they're going to react to you.
You don't know what acting style they like and so on. It
was a little difficult because you just didn't know what to
expect.
But, then again, since I've been acting for so long, in
a way, it's like nothing, too. You just kind of go from set
to set and do your job.
The director, Graham Lynch, was great! He really helped
make us feel comfortable with our characters and with
everything else. By the end of the first two weeks, everyone
was really into their parts, and we wanted it to go on
forever.
It was really kind of hard to leave each other because we'd all grown so fond of each other.
We broke up for... a bit before we saw one another again. We've been reunited now for about six months,
and it's been great."
Asia describes her friendship with Jewel Staite (another interview with Disney).
"Jewel's great to work with. She makes me
laugh. She always pretends to have a hair ball caught in her
throat and tries to cough it up, sometimes in the middle of
a scene. She's great fun.
We had first met at a 'Flash Forward' read-through
two years ago. We really got along. Actually, we all did --
Theo, Ben, Jewel, and I. We played cards together
and talked about music and what we expected the show to
become. But Jewel and I are particularly close. She's
friendly, funny, and happy. Sometimes she can be very
serious, but generally she's always upbeat.
We're total opposites. I'm really athletic and always
on the go, either at dance class, gymnastics, snowboarding,
skiing, or hiking. And she'd rather go shopping or see a
movie or go for lunch and so on. But, even opposites can get
along. We still love each other, even though we're different.
Our characters are really close, too. They pretty
much tell each other everything straightforward, like how
they feel and if they like something or they don't.
Off screen, we've helped each other through some
stuff, teen-related stuff. It's great to have someone to
talk to. That's what friendship is all about. You always
need to have somebody you can talk to, who understands you.
Jewel's always there for me."
