General and universal statistical approach to the Ocean Acoustic Tomography (OAT) have been developed and several theoretical works have been published's works. Now the laboratory is developing a software allowing to estimate potential accuracy and efficiency of any OAT system based on the Munk's tomography (as it follows from the theory, this approach is quasi-optimal for meso-scale ocean inhomogeneities). The software simplifies a theoretically well-based design of such systems for various applications. Also, the mode tomography that is quasi-optimal for large-scale ocean inhomogeneities (larger then the characteristic length of one ray cycle in the waveguide) is considered and studied on the same way.
