I REPORTED ON BOARD THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE SEATTLE WAS IN BROOKLYN FINISHING HER OVERHAUL. THE MK23 TAS RADAR WAS JUST INSTALLED ON THE SHIP (THE FIRST SHIP IN THE FLEET TO HAVE IT), AND THATS WHAT I WORKED ON. ITS LIKE ALOT OF THE OTHER GUYS SAID I DIDN'T REALLY ENJOY BEING ON SEATTLE BUT I MISSED IT AFTER I LEFT ESPECIALLY SOME OF THE FREINDS I LEFT BEHIND. Outstanding work Bill. When I reported aboard Seattle I was just a few months 17. So the way I usually look at is that I grew up aboard her. In the three years I served onboard we may have been in Norfolk a combined total of 8 months. Like one of the
ther shipmates said, we were always standing in for the Detroit, so that made us "haze gray and underway". My path has been a peculiar one. I am currently a Signal Corps Captain in the Army Reserve (Innactive). But I will tell you this...not too many d
