Secret Network Sharing
ZDHelp

Sometimes you need to be discrete when sharing information on your network.
To create a secret network volume, right click on the folder that you want to share and choose Sharing... from the context menu. In the resulting Properties dialog box, select the Sharing tab and click the Shared As option. Then add a dollar sign ($) to the end of the text in the Share Name field and click OK.

Users who have the proper access privileges will still be able to access the share by using the UNC path name (\\servername\secret$), but users won't see the share's name listed in the Network Neighborhood browse list. Unless a user knows where to look, he or she won't be able to access your secret network share.
