Review of Envelop VisualBasic

This is
not Microsoft VisualBasic! The IDE is vastly different and takes some practice; but it is
powerful! This is perhaps the premier BASIC on the web, and is well worth the time for a programmer who wants a powerful FREE Basic implementation! It is a slick professional Basic originally meant as a commercial product; the
help files at times can be a little lacking in clarity and completeness, however. Developed as a commercial competitor to Microsoft VisualBasic, the project was abandoned. Visual Envelop has a learning curve, but it is a powerful,OOP implementation of BASIC. Envelop can build stand-alone EXE, DLL and VBX files. It is worth the effort. Be sure to get it. The link is no longer working, and I am researching to see if it is still available on the web anywhere. It would be a shame to loose this program! It runs only on Windows 95/98 and ME; does not run correctly in WinXP. |
