Zidane
A cool-acting thief on board the Prima Vista with the Tantalus theater
group led by Baku. Tantalus was hired by the Regent of Lindblum to
show a play at the Castle of Alexandria, and kidnap Princess Garnet at
the same time.


Vivi
A somewhat clumsy Black Mage who finds that his theater ticket is a
fake. Vivi decides he should find some way to see the play that the
Tantalus was showing, but can he find a friend that will help him out?

Captain Adelbert Steiner
The loyal knight who is the Captain of Alexandria's "Knights of Pluto".
After the Queen sees that Garnet is missing, she sends Steiner to search
for her in the castle. Somehow, he seems to always been beaten by his
rival, General Beatrix.


Princess Garnet Til Alexandros (or Dagger)
The most beautiful Princess in the history of Alexandria who is also a
White Mage and Summoner. Noticing the Queen's strange behavior,
she decides to jump onto the Prima Vista on its way back to Lindblum
Castle. Later she goes by a different name so she won't attract any
attention to herself.


Freya
A well-trained Dragon warrior from the kingdom of Burmecia (in earlier
Final Fantasy stories, this type of warrior was called a "Dragoon" or a
"Lancer"). She had abandoned Burmecia three years before in search
for her lost love.


Quina
A rather odd person from Qu's Marshes who likes to eat frogs. S/he
has the powers of a Blue Mage and learns skills by eating weakened
enemies in battle.


Eiko
The last survivor from the town of Madain Sari, a town of Summoners.
She gained the powers of a White Mage. Eiko now lives with a group
of Moogles, but still feels lonely.


Amarant
A strong fist-fighter whose face is on Wanted posters in Alexandria.
Later he was hired to recover the Princess and bring her back to the castle.
