April 2, 2000 Development of Blobmaster for Windows on Track.
Here's a screen-shot:
After months of wading through arcane documents and many furtive first attempts I have managed to glean enough of the lore of Windows programming, MFC, Direct3d to actually feel (almost) comfortable taking on a real programming challenge in 32-bit Windows. Whether it will be finished before a 64-bit Windows is the norm is anyone's call (things move so fast and I am only one lone programmer....)
Source is included in the binary distro. If you want only the source Get it here.

Blobmaster is a "work in progress" 3d modeler for POV-Ray Blob objects. It is an MS_DOS +dpmi (the dpmi provider is included in the zip) that runs well in a Windows 95/98 DOS box. Development has taken place (up until recently) on a 486DX 66 with 16 megs of ram in IBM_DOS 6.1(same functionality as MS_DOS 6.1). Other than that all you need is a mouse and about 2-3 megs of free hard-drive space. It currently
has the following features:
New:
-Gourad shaded and/or wireframe preview
-Shear now works
-position and transformation info is now editable as text
-800x600x256 resolution
Old:
-Save and Load files in blobmaster (.BMF) format.
-Save POV-Ray 3.02 scene description language compatible files (ie. files suitable for tracing with POV-Ray.)
- 4 viewing windows: The front, top, and left side plan views and the 3d wireframe
camera view window.
-Zooming in any window.
-Panning in the plan view windows.
-Maximizing and Minimizing of windows.
-Create spherical or cylindrical blob components.
-Create 50 components along a spline path.
-Relocatable camera position and look_at.
-Mirror Axis location and orientation can be arbitrarily located in any of the
plan windows.
-Move,Radius,and Strength functions for blob components.
-Rotate, Scale, Translate, Mirror across axis(buggy) transformations for components.
-Texture (only solid colors defined in "colors.inc" for now) individual components.
-Copy and Delete components.
TODO:
-Implement the above for groups of components.
-Undo buffer.
-Texture Editor.
-Etc. etc. etc....(Any suggestions?).
LEGAL STUFF:
Blobmaster is (for now) free software. This means you can use it in any way
you see fit but you cannot sell it (at all) or distribute it as your own. Any distribtion
must include the readme.txt file.
Blobmaster comes with absolutely no guarantee whatsoever.I am not responsible
for any damage caused by its use. If it doesn't suit your needs, well it was
free anyway. Delete it and find something else. The only thing I can say is that
I have been testing and using it in the process of development for about 18 months
and nothing has happened to my computer so far.
