Tour of ChicagoFirst you will enjoy lunch featuring Chicago Style Pizza.  A trip to Chicago wouldn't be complete without a slice of Chicago's world famous deep-dish pizza.  Soft drinks and iced tea are included with lunch.  After lunch enjoy a narrated overview tour of Chicago.  The tour will include famous landmarks and interesting areas of Chicago.  You will see the famous Grant Park. This lakefront park was once where Lake Michigan flowed. The well known Lincoln Park area will be visited along with the Loop, which is located in Chicago's downtown area and is made up of Chicago's core commercial, cultural and residential buildings located within the framework of the transit system's elevated train tracks. 

Your tour would not be complete without a drive along Lake Shore Drive, one of the most scenic thoroughfares anywhere. See Chicago's Gold Coast, the area of prime lakefront on the Near North side of the city along Lake Michigan. You will be astounded by North Michigan Avenue, also called the Magnificent Mile, known worldwide for its unique shops and boutiques. Lastly a stop will be made at the world's tallest building, the Sears Tower. The 360-degree view from the Skydeck Observatory on the 103rd floor of the building is spectacular.

Navy PierThe shuttle will make stops at the Chicago Place Shopping Center located on North Michigan Avenue in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. Here you will enjoy delightful stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Niketown, Crate & Barrel, Bloomingdales, Marshall Fields, Lord & Taylor and much more!  You will also have the opportunity to visit Chicago's new entertainment complex, Navy Pier.  Navy Pier is home to a Ferris Wheel, the Chicago Children's Museum, shopping, restaurants, and loads of fun. You may also visit Chicago's new Museum Campus. The campus includes the Field Museum of Natural History and the John G. Shedd Aquarium.

Merchandise MartYou will enjoy a fully escorted tour of selected showroom areas of the Merchandise Mart.
The Merchandise Mart is the world's first and largest design center.  America's premier wholesale building with a reputation for showcasing the finest in home furnishings, decorative accessories, kitchen and bath products and much more.  "The Mart" as it was quickly nicknamed, was built in 1930 for famous retailer Marshall Field.  The realization of Field's dream was to have a single, national wholesale center under one roof.  With the opening of the Apparel Center adjacent to "The Mart," the two-city block complex became the world's largest privately owned exposition facility.

Private Historical River CruiseYou will be escorted to the River East Plaza, a short walk from the hotel where you will board your private NAAA Boat.  Here you will enjoy a 90-minute private river cruise with an architectural guide that will showcase the work of those who helped revolutionize the building arts.  You will see Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's IBM Building exemplify his dictum "less is more."  You'll see the Swissotel by Harry Weese; the Sears Tower by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; Marina City by Bertrand Goldberg, and many more architectural masterpieces.   A cruise on the Chicago River in the summertime is not to be missed.

  • Tour tickets will be available for pick up at the NAAA Hospitality Desk at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers beginning Wednesday, September 1, 1999.
  • All tours are non-refundable/non-transferable and will operate regardless of weather conditions.
  • All tours are based upon a minimum number of participants and we reserve the right to cancel any tour not meeting the minimum as stated.
  • All tours are based upon availability at the time your confirmation is received.  If a tour has reached its capacity, your payment will be refunded.
  • While no revisions of the itinerary are anticipated, we reserve the right to cancel or change any schedule and to substitute or cancel any stop or other feature of the tour without notice.
  • Contact/Chicago Land Travel Specialists Inc.
