G3 Macs Rule! - 01/03/99 12:04:20
Mac or PC user: Macs!

Comments:
Macs rule! PC users are bitter and jealous as usual! Face facts... you chose a lousy system just because you were following the crowd like the sheep that you are! You PC people are the types who think Hanson rules too cause they sell a lot of records to sheep like yourselves! Basically the PC loser is an insecure whiner who is not intelligent enough to choose things on their own, and so have to rely on following whatever they think the crowd is doing. A recent survey of incomes showed that Mac users on average earn $26,000 MORE a year than do PC users! There you have it in a nutshell sheep! You follow the crowd, and you get to be just what the crowd is, MEDIOCRE! Basically the average PC whiner is not a leader, but a blind follower who is affraid to take chances He/she a sheep to be lead around by others. The Mac user is more likely a leader, infact more likly the boss of the PC loser. Sad but true PC losers! Most of you are just losers who are not good at much, so clinging to your little cult of Wintel is the only thing you have to feel part of the mainstream. Your insecure whining costs you not only developing any kind of innovation, or leadership skills, but on average $26,000 a year less than we Mac users! That is sad! And is it any wonder PC people gripe about the costs of Macs? Having saddled yourselves to a lower income bracket by being sheep... no WONDE

Mac or PC user: I truly hate MACs

Comments:
I;ve used both the Macs n PCs, and I must say the site puts into perspective what Macs n Mac users are: Macs- 1. too darn expensive, can't very much upgrade (esp the piece of junk called iMAC). 2. bloody monopoly n closed market--wat happened to the companies who were supposed to sell Apple-compatible machines? Apple took the blooy license back--uhuh, n Bill Gates is the greater evil here...Given the chance, u'd think SteveJobs won't be a greate evil? MacUsers: -this site really got the low-down on these strange elitist types: 1. fine, Windows is a copier of the Mac OS, but it has since improved despite the same gribes by MacHeads. Wat with funny dialogue boxes, crashes, poor networkability...look here guys, Win95 was a difficult transition, and I hated it at first, but it has ince become more stable--Ctrl Alt Del is better than the stoopeed "Force Quit". Wat Windows has become is closer to MacOS (a compliment here), and it has incorporated its own improvements here. Like AutoRun, etc. It has also become easier to connect a net ork, and install things with PnP. What i hate abt MacUsers is they dun wana admit Windows has improved. While I can accept that the earlier Apple Macs were great innovators, esp in the DTP field, these Macheads have become so stuck in their stubborness th y can't accept others have caught up. 2. MacHeads are elistist shitheads, and like this excellent mentioned, they actually feel they are better people by simply using a Mac. Remove teh hype--the imac is one big hype--and u have blind, blinkered fools trumpeting their own pathetic crap. A guy t Mac shop once told me tat a Mac version of a new game was not out yet--but it was originally made on a Mac. I mean, wats the bottom line here? blindly follow n jump of the cliff like lemmings or follow my senses n buy a PC to play my games?

Hello again my friends, I was reading my message and noticed some parts were cut off, this is due to a messy job of cut and paste I did and not because this site was built on a PC. Some of the things I cut off was about the iMac's monitor. Some people ma not know this (who cares anyways) but the iMac's is an all-in-one CPU/monitor unit which can not be separated (veeery smart!). Onether point is the fact that inside this "wonderful" little unit there is not enough room to fit a second HD (veeery upgrada le!). Now back to Mac in general. Some guy in this message board was bragging about his Mac and working with graphics. Hold your horses my friend. Let's not forget all those great programs we use (PhotoShop, Freehand, Director, CorelDraw, etc.) are not made b Mac and have been available for the PC for quite some time now. And most of them run better on PCs too. Please don't regard me as a Mac hater, to be honest I learned a lot of what I know on Macs. What bothers me is people who worship the Mac knowing it sn't the greatest system. They do it for rebellion, just to "think differently" (what kind of campaign is that). Besides being a graphic designer I majored in Advertising and let me tell you that Macs strategy won't get them anywhere. Burning Pentium II shouldn't be Mac's goal.

First of all let me congratulate the maker of this site for such beautiful content. And he's absolutely right, Macs do suck. I have used Macs in the past and let me tell you the experience is not nice at all. One thing we have to make clear is that Micr soft is NOT a hardware manufacturer, so Windows' performance will depend on the hardware configuration. Windows can sometimes seem complicated, but this is due to the fact that it was not designed for stupid whining Mac users that like everything user-fri ndly with happy faces painted everywhere. Windows is meant to be upgradable. I use "supercomputers" at work, but at home I have a P133 with only 16MB RAM (I know what you're thinking Mac users, hold on...). I run FrontPage 98, PhotoShop5(larger program) and CorelDraw 8 (huge program!) for web designing, all at the same time. But that's not all, I cannot work without some background music so I turn either a MP3 player or CD player on the computer which also takes some memory. Does all this run slow? A l ttle, yes (just a few nanoseconds slower than the infamous G#). Does my home system ever crash? NEVER. If anithing crashes it will be one of the programs but never the system. For this you can always trust the good 'ol "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" command and shu down the program that is not responding (learning anything yet mackers?), try "controlalternatedeleting" on your Macs when the little bomb comes up. The beauty of a PC running Windows is the compatibility and disposability of the system. You'd be amazed of how many people I know that are stuck with their Macs, using them as nightstands or door stoppers. The day you want to change your PC all you have o do is sell the one you have (you always find buyers for PCs) and go out and get a new one with the latest technology. OR you can always upgrade. OR you can trade in your old system. OR you can donate your old 486 to a foster home and they'll be grateful because it is still functional. Many options huh? PCs are dirt cheap for the technology you get. Try this: drop a beautiful-looking, expensive and poorly functional one-button iMac mouse from the top of a 10 storie building. Now try the same with one of those cheap Genious Pc mice. Which one you think hurts more? The iMac one you're thinking right? WRONG, functionality does more for me than the stylish shit Macintosh has been pushing all along. Talking about the iMac, this is the biggest farse I've seen in the computer business. I respect Steve Job's decision on excluding the floppy drive (he's reportedly always hated floppys). In fact many PC manufacturers are doing the same, but the latter h ve included either a Built-in Zip drive or some sort of media storage. What do you get on the iMac? Shit. a stupid CD ROM (read only memory, for all those Mac lovers stupid enough to buy an iMac). Another thing that bothers me about this "little wonder" s the display. As a graphic designer I need more than just a 14 inch monitor. So how do I get a larger display on the iMac? Who the hell knows! I saw the answer to this question on an iMac fan page(yes it has fan clubs) where they explain how to achieve this task by performing some very weird electronic wizardry. This is what Mackers love, bunch of nerdy loosers. So you Mackers are probably thinking that the iMac was not designed for graphic desing, well let me tell you that this is not what Mac says They advertise their latest flopp as "a great machine for graphic artists", they should stick to the facts. This is what So I imagine the iMac on a desktop and I don't see a pretty picture. A floppy drive here, a Zip drive there, switching cables betwee monitors, etc. and all this with USB connections which are currently not well supported. So as you can see, we PC users (not lovers, we preffer organic lifeforms for this task) can be listen, reason and learn from what other people have to say. Maybe you should try this some time. Have a wonderful happy Mac day, J. Vargas

I am a computer professional and use both Mac, PC, and Unix almost equally. This subject is like arguing religion...you could go on forever. I must say for the record, however, that there are a couple of reaons why I think Mac's are pieces of shit. 1) here memory management blows. I find it amusing that mac users complain about windows being a hog and taking all the memory, BUT it gives it back as need be to the apps and MANAGES it. 2) Mac's multitask about like a 105 year old woman! I tried runnin realaudio over a T1 connection on a G3 at work and had no problem until I clicked on file. Halted the processor. You should have seen what happened when I tried to run other apps. My Windows machine at home over a slow modem connection didn't halt at ll even when I opened my most memory and cpu intensive programs. There you have it folks. Taking all the cpu just to show the finder's file menu?!? Come on... POS! Just my two cents worth.

haha! Mac vs PC is one of my favorite subjects. This website I can tell was 'designed' by a PC user. It looks like hell warmed over. PC people seem to me to have a thing for not understanding simple concepts (design that looks decent for one!) or like ejecting a disk without having to reach down and push a button on a drive (let alone with a paper clip! haha!) Or things like: if a two button mouse is such a big deal.. then use one with a Mac also! (or 3 or 4 or however many) Since OS8 added contextual menus, the Mac can actually do more with a second mouse button triggered to activate them than a PC's second button. And you can add any functions you choose to the contextual windows because Apple, (infinitly more intelligent than Microsoft) has taken up the plug-in approach to the OS letting you add on whatever the hell functions you want. I constantly see PC people touting thier rigid Windows mess, even pretending that it's somehow more customizable than Mac OS. Hardly. Where did that out and out lie ever come from. The main thing PC'rs seem to do constantly to thier systems is try desperatly to get them working again... not adding more function to it! Meanwhile I can set my Mac up to do complex tasks across multiple programs with a single mouse click. I've always felt Macs are for people who want a really good tool for actually getting things done OTHER than just doing things TO the computer. PC's are more for people who view getting things done as "doing something to the computer". I've had to laugh hysterically when a PC user and I have compared work weekends before. "What did you do this weekend mr Mac guy?" Well, I got about 500 feet of footage put together with Premiere, just have to export an EDL and send that over to the Avid people. Also, I got some major Photoshop editing in and managed to complete a few more script pages in Final draft before rendering some Premiere files to burn onto a CD...etc.etc.. What about you MR. PC guy? "well, I had a VERY productive weekend! I finally got a second HD installed as a slave unit, the autodetect wasn't seeing it last weekend, so I found out from a tech guy that I had to upgrade the BIOS. After that I had tyo format it and get it up and working, but that went pretty smoothly, so thenI had time to work out the IRQ setting for the new Modem I bought, but while I was tinkering with my Registry, I had a crash and then the modem drivers wouldn't install. Tech support recommended I re install Win98, then re install the drivers and even though I just did that 2 weeks ago, I did it again..but the problem turned out to be my updated BIOS, so I had to surf the internet most of sunday evening to find the update for that.... etc etc etc! This is nearly the exact conversation! So for me, the "Mac guy" a productive weekend was actually defined as doing WORK! For my PC friend, it was getting his comp working again! haha! And the funny

Yeah, that elitism of *some* Mac users is what causes a lot of the resentment toward them. One would have to conclude that they can't be all *that* secure in their belief that their machine (and therefore themselves, snobbery there) are actually better, otherwise why the constant need to harp about it? You don't see Mercedes owners bragging right and left about how their car is better than a Pinto; to do so would be rather rude at best, and naturally would not endear them to the Pinto owners too much. Besides, I honestly don't think there's that much difference between computers anymore anyway - perhaps that's the reason some Mac users get all hostile, because their supposed "superiority" is ebbing away as the competitors' technology improves. I bought a Mac a few years ago, but it wasn't for "status", it's just that I happen to like the damn thing and it works well for me (plus I got it

Also it has the usual brain dead design tackiness that PC lovers seem to have. Tackiness seems to be something inbred into anyone who'd actually prefer some tacky OS from Microsoft. I like to consider myself a Macintosh power-user, and ultimatley I prefer Macs over PC's (if I'm not mistaken, PC stands for Personal Computer. So why is it that Wintel and other machines running Windows are called PC's yet Macs are not?). I am more used o the OS, and I prefer th options and the utilities. I have nothing against PC's, and I often wonder what all the big fuss is about. I ave my own opinions about wether or not Mac is going to go out of business (it's not), and I really get annoyed when peo le start going off about how "inferior" and "pathetic" Macs are. Not because I have a need to defend my OS, but because I've heared the argument soooo many times before.
