Just reading the "Annoying Things About Mac"
section and I thought that I would drop a line.
The section didn't make me mad or anything, but I
do wonder if you even bother to read any feedback
at all. I get the impression from the tone of
your writing that you're pretty mad at Apple for
some reason. Or maybe just the users. Here goes:
Disk ejection - Press the mouse button. Any disk
will eject when it restarts. This has been true
from the Mac Plus to the latest G4.
Price - Apple makes and supports all the parts in
the box. Either they license it from the
manufacturer, or they slap their own label on it.
No generics! That to me is worth a little more $.
Memory management - You didn't say if you were
running Photoshop on the PC. If you're a
designer, then you'd know what a hog Photoshop is.
And this also ties into Mac crashes...OSX is
fixing the MacOS to have protected memory. This
is something even the Mac users are dying for.
Yes, Macintosh computers crash. :-O
Floppy drives - Floppies are THE worst method of
media there is. They are more susceptible to
damage than anything else. Good riddance!
Lack of software - Yup Mac software is tougher to
find. But that is changing.
1) How many word processors do you really need,
anyway?
2) There is a lot less junk that no one wants.
Anyway, not sure if you are really open for
rational discussion. But I tho

Boy was I wrong! After I stopped doing wrong-headed things with my PC and got a cooler processor (Pentium II was overclocked and undercooled) crashes became quite infrequent. Around the same time, I took up the Mac. The user interface is annoyingly retard
d, and I find myself double-clicking through countless levels of directories. At home, I have a three button mouse - click, double-click, and context menus. My Mac mouse at school has one :( I can't figure out file associations and there's no file extensi
ns to help, configuring hardware is non-intuitive, blah blah blah. I have more complaints but I'm enjoying my PC right now so I'll get my mind out of the blue-and-white gutter :)

Dear Mac Advocates,
I am a PC user who has both a 233 Pentium (really
slow by today's standards) and a 350 PowerMac G4.
Since my other PC was taken away (loooong story) I
have been reduced to using the Mac. First of all a
Mac is so slow compared to my old PC. The only way
we were able to equal performance was by adding
128 MB RAM (my old one had 32!) Then I tried
running Unreal for it (surprise it runs like crap
on an ATI Rage 128 meanwhile my archaic ATI
All-In-Wonder could handle it without problems). I
have also never found a system that could be taken
down by browsing yahoo.com. I have recorded 68
crashes from using Netscape/Internet Explorer
merely surfing the web.
The system also takes so long to start up it is
pathetic. Face it Windows based PCs rule compared
to Mac OS. Until Mac OS fully supports preemptive
multi-tasking the OS will never gain footing. Also
the system comes barebones at least Windows has
MSPaint and Wordpad to do work with. Macs just
plain suck the suckiest of the suck

I used MacOS 8 before, it is easy to use, but hard to configurate. Don't get me wrong, i am using windows because it is something cheap and i can built a decent computer in the budget of $600, Mac? triple that please.
Both Windows and MacOS sucks, the real powerful OS is Unix and nothing beat it.

windows it crashed erasing software and needing me to take the computer to a shop to

The "noticable difference" you see between your mac and your PC is most likely due to screen gamma... the same picture will look slightly different on a PC and a mac unless some gamma-correction utility is used (like what comes with Photoshop)

I think you are right about some Mac users not all but some. Like a few of my friends are insane they go crazy at our school lab because they are all PC's they actually complained to the office that there should be MAC's in the lab. I like mac's sometimes

hey there,
your page is relly cool. i stumbled over it while searching for info on mac ftp servers. i downloaded this program called Quid Pro Quo 2.0 and being the non expert i am, i'm still trying to make it work.
let me know if you bump into someone you can give me a word of advice or who knpws where i can find some useful literature on the topic.
