It is with regret that I have to inform you of the death of James (Jim) Tobias, age 72, on 31 December 1999.  Jim was one of our long term members. He joined FAMPARC in 1980. Jim was actively involved in WICEN, and held the position of State Coordinator for a number of years.  In spite of his deminishing health Jim continued to take part in WICEN training events and field days, such as the yearly Murray Marathon. He was involved in the preparation of the Y2K WICEN Activation. Recent further problems caused Jim to be hospitalised, but  he intended to follow the WICEN Y2K traffic flow on a hand held radio. Unfortunately this did not happen, as Jim died in his sleep in  the evening of 31 December 1999. Our condolences go to his wife and family. Amongst many people, several members of FAMPARC attended the Funeral Service at Bunorong Memorial Park on Friday 7th of January 2000. Vale Jim.                Gerard (VK3GER)
