Although we still are quite a long way off, a big dint was made in the work needed for the new club rooms. To start with a damp barrier was created  between the concrete slab and the walls. Then there was the labourous task of cutting and fitting of studs along the walls, and the completion of all the wiring needed for electricity, computers, security and antennas. Then insulation was put in place in the wall areas, followed by the cutting and fitting of cement sheets. (The use of cement sheets will mean a great improvement for our fire rating, compared to the previous wall covering). As I write this both long walls have just been completed.
The next big job is the ripping and fitting of timber along the ceiling frames, needed to create a support for ceiling sheets; and the fitting of these ceiling sheets. Some scaffolding will be required. Only then we can start working on dividing walls.
To keep the workers happy a VHF radio has been put in, so far using a magnetic mount on the roof. Also a proper urn has become available for use. Come along on our next business meeting, scheduled for Friday 16^th of June 8 pm, ( NOT Friday 9 June, as this is the Friday before a long weekend) and see what has been done. There will most likely be a job or two to do for you over the next months!
Note: Bring a camping chair, just in case we run out of chairs! And: don't park on the grass in this wet time of the year!
