Diablo, from Blizzard Entertainment, is a very, VERY good game. I highly recommend it. I'll be blunt about the plot: You have to go down to where the Devil lives and kill Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Well, no, not really, but this game is still very good.

This game starts out like any old RPG, you start out weak and gain levels and stats. Aside from that, this game is totally different. Having fun quests like The Butcher, where you have to kill The Butcher who has a big Cleaver (Well, the quests aren't exactly fun, but they are pretty cool). You have your choice of being a warrior, a rogue, or a sorceror. The warrior is lots of strength, has average dexterity and vitality, and is weak at magic. The rogue has lots of dexterity, and is average at everything else. The sorceror is awesome with magic, but is weak at everything else. Because of this, you need a different strategy for each. For the warrior, you should use a one-handed sword and a shield. For the rogue, the bow is the weapon of choice, and for the sorceror, magic is what he needs.

Another plus for this game is its multiplayer support. You have free access to Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment's place to play either Warcraft, Warcraft II, Diablo, and soon Starcraft, over the internet. There you can interact with thousands of people, or kill them. You can also play Diablo over a network, or by hooking two computers together. If you live in Colorado in area code 303, give me an e-mail and let's play.

Something else that is very good is the magic items. Some armor and weapons are magical, some add to your hit points, others add to your attributes, some detract from your hit points and attributes, or maybe a combination of them all. Unique items are even better. They add to multiple things and they usually add to your damage or armor. The armor I am using (not unique) is called Awesome Armor of the Stars. It has an armor class of around 100-110 (VERY GOOD!) and it adds eight to all attributes. Obviously very nice armor. I picked it up from a monster I killed. Awfully generous, don't you think?

The graphics, sounds, and everything else in this game is excellent. The graphics are very realistic, and the sounds add to the game. Tip: Do not play this game at 1:00 A.M. in the morning. If someone taps you on the shoulder, you will jump. Kind of like the way you would jump if someone did the same thing to you if you played Quake. Not very fun. The people are realistic, but all they do is just stand outside their shops. Still, that's the only thing I see wrong with the game. The people look realistic, from Adria the Witch, to Griswold the Blacksmith, to Wirt the Peg-Legged Boy, they all look very realistic. Out of *****, I give this *****.
