Read All About Me! |
The Early Years: | My name is Noel (A.K.A. Cyber-Phreak) and I was born in Nicaragua. A country located in Central America. I moved to the US when I was 7 years old. I then grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where I still live to this day. My parents support me in everything I do and are always pushing to help me succeed in anything I try. |
The stress chamber: | School for me meant stress. Even though I was always a good student, I did not like being in school. I always enjoyed doing things that we were taught and not just hearing about it. There were two good thing about school though. It showed me an entirely new world. The world of 0's and 1's (although I didn't really learn about them until my senior year in high school), and through school friends I met my other half. |
Digitalization: | The first computer that I ever worked with was a Zenith, back in 1985. We saved all the information onto regular audio casettes.
All We were doing was writing on the screen some basic code that displayed a robot on the screen using the # sign. I was in 5th grade at the time and seeing this on a small television set amazed me. This is how I knew computers is what I wanted to work with. I did not get an opportunity to work with computers again until my senior year in high school and then in college. |
My Other Half: | My other half as you guessed is my girlfriend. Her name is Viviana and she is not into computers as I am but she does support me in any way she can. We have been together since 1991 and will be getting married next year. She is my motivation. She in a sense completes me. |
The Work Place: | Work for me has always been fun. Mainly it's because I enjoy what I do. I dislike repition very much. I enjoy programming because things are always different. Maybe it's because I'm still young. But the challenge of working on a new project with a new language is fun. |
The Quest: | Now that I finally graduated college, I still feel incomplete. In school you are taught that you should work to make money. My parents always taught me that the work you do does not matter but the fact that you enjoy it does. I enjoy learning. and I believe that software should be free. That is why I make my source code available. Not everyone has this opinion, but that's fine, everyone is entitled to their own so I won't try to persuade you. |
