First time I've called my LC475 a vintage Mac (I earn a living as a graphic designer with it). I was happy to read so many things that I agree with on your site. Thought these/my views were pretty much extinct. Seems like that in Holland! I'll visit again in a few weeks & maybe write some more (or send some of my work as an enclosure). Would like to get to know you. See you, Thijs

Old Macs are the best! Everything newer does the same thing, just in colour and with greater speed.

Hello! I am a co-author of 68k Forever. It's a small site about 68k Macs and we're slowly expanding. Right now it's more of a collection of what we own rather than ino and useful links. But we're working on it. I don't like the negativity of the Windows a d Intel-based PCs. I started out a Amiga ser, moved to Windows, and now reside as a Windows/MacOS user. I find a difference in the OS, but I do not take sides. I believe both platforms do their job well...live and let live I'd say. Anyway, the site is nic and it worked fine on AOL 4.0 for Windows95, I am going to look at it on my PowerBook later and then on NetScape 1.1N on my Friend's Duo. Will e-mail you the results. Your images look very nice, By the Way.

Like your site. It helps keep up the moral in this speed crazed , Wintel world. Thanks. P.S. I'm viewing this site on my trusty old Performa 466 , and I also have an old IIcx.

Vintage macs are almost a myth. Those who have one should keep it working: there's a lot of sw which still runs on them...

Which Vintage Mac do you own?: Mac Plus

My older brother gave it to me (Mac Plus) with a harddrive. I didn't know anything about it. Slowly I've learned and it's great. Hard to come across software but I've manage to come across programs on the web, and managed to take some workable programs of CDs! It's like exploring a brandnew world. Thanks for the site.

Which Vintage Mac do you own?: MacPortable (2mb backlit) and MacTV
Which browser are you using?: Netscape 3.01

I am glad to find this site and will recommend it to members of the Prescott, Az User's Group. Needless to say, I am not using the Portable to access this site. I am using the Macintosh TV (another relic; not sure it's really antique). I use RAM doubler on it which provides another 16MB virtual RAM. I would like to put the Portable on the net (at one time I ran it on AOL) but it doesn't have enough memory for System 7 and Netscape. I have found memory upgrades (in the PDS slot) for this machine ridiculously expensive. Although it has a PDS slot nobod has ever addressed the possibility of using available PDS CPU/Memory/Accelerator add ons (through an adapter, of course). It also has a video output jack, but again no adapter is made for VGA (I think it would drive a flat-panel directly). I can get color on the Portable through the (extinct?) Aura Company Scuzzy Graph connected to a VGA Monitor. This device also runs on the MacTV (68030) but at some compromise to performance and eventual system crashes.

Like your site. Looks very pro while maintaining a Mac-ish flavor. I fly the classic on the net sometimes, mostly email & FTP, Web is pretty slow, cannot find a newsreader that will work on the 4 meg Classic. Thanks for the site Bob

I tested the link to your excellent page from your base home page (...7228). For some reason, it does not go to the B&W page version. I likie the basic web page that you set up because more and more people are using newer features like Java on their web p ges. The vintage machines cannot deal with these features. I look forward to visiting you page again. Enjoy. mmjr

: Looks like a great start. To bad the dual issues didn't work. Although couldn't you have just published in text files and then had templates to pop themn into either format? Good luck.
