How to Get "the edge" on Graphics.
When displaying photos or artwork on the web, The tendency is to place a photo in a frame, or table.. This gives the impression that they are just laying on top of the page, rather than being a part of it. There are times when that separate look is desirable and times when it isn't. I am going to show you some edge effects that will make the photo appear to be a part of the page. You can get third party filters to produce these effects, and they do it very well, but you can do it just as well with the filters that are native to Photoshop, and another advantage to this technique is that each edge you create will be yours. Unique. This is a very simple technique that I will demonstrate step by step in 2 parts. First, preparing the Image for the filters, and second, applying the filters to get the effects you want.. I used Photoshop 5 for these effect, but they will work just as well with version 4.
