Easy Round Buttons
This is a quick and easy way to make round buttons..It is the first way I learned to make them, only I was working in adobe Photodeluxe at the time! When I got Photoshop, I just converted the same technique to match Photoshop tools. If anyone wants instructions for photodeluxe, email me. The only tools you will use are the gradient tool, and the elliptical selection marquee. so it can be done in any program that has the ability to do those things.!
1.Create new file, RGB, 100X100 pixels
2 Set the foreground color to a light shade of any color and the background to a dark shade of the same color. (I used the darkest and lightest green on the default swatches pallet)
3 make a round selection with the elliptical marquee.
4. Double click the gradient tool and set it to radial, foreground to background. Fill the selection from top left to bottom right with the gradient tool.
5. Click Select/modify contract by 6 pixels. Then select feather 2 pixels. (The feather is optional, but it makes the bevel look smoother. try it without the feather and see if you like it better)
6. Double click the gradient tool again, and with the same settings, fill the selection this time from bottom right to top left. Click select/none.
7. This is a nice basic button..there are a lot of things you can do with it...I finished it by selecting it and choosing edit stroke,/ 1 pixel /outside, with dark green as the foreground color to make dark green ring around it.
3. I have several in my graphics gallery , you can see them here.
