Christmas Memories

"I remember when I was 11, and Santa Claus came knocking on our door late on Christmas Eve night, saying that he'd got a special surprise for me. I thought it peculiar because his voice sounded a bit like Gyles Brandreth only a bit more slow and slurred. It was also strange because his trousers were too big and kept falling down, and he must have been in such a rush that he'd forgotten to put any pants on. I don't remember much after that,my dad came to the door and ushered me back inside, then he went out with a pair of pliers saying that he was 'going to help Santa fix his sleigh'. Then I heard lots of strange yelping noises which was probably the reindeer getting all excited about Christmas. It's funny, I never saw Santa Claus ever again after that, and it was round about the same time that Gyles Brandreth stopped writing to me."

Christmas Memories

"
I remember that winter, because it brought the heaviest snow that I had ever seen. The snow had fallen steadily all night long, and in the morning, I awoke in a room filled with light and silence. The whole world seemed to be held in a dreamlike stillness. It was a magical day. And it was on that day I made the snowman."

Raymond Briggs, London (I wish I'd never phoned him up now, he goes on about this every single year, you'd have thought he'd have gotten over this by now, I had to hang up when he began sobbing down the phone about how it melted, the poor lamb).
Christmas Memories

"I can remember it well, I asked them if just for once they might get off their arses and contribute something themselves for a change, but no, it was too much trouble, wasn't it? Leave it to Danny,he'll do it, he's only got about a squillion other websites to work on,he won't mind.
Well balls to this,I'm off down the boozer, look out for further updates coming in 2009! Merry Christmas, Pylon lovers!
