In November of 2003, I joined the CLAW Writer's Society. I think I will enjoy this group quite a lot. It is led by Kitty the Great, a feline I admire very much...a most talented kitty cat.

For the month of December, I got this award.

ODE TO A GUINEA PIG
by Sir Wally

I think that I shall never see
Such a squeaky thing as thee
You have no tail, you're not a mouse
But you can really rule the house
When the humans open the door
You're hungry and squeal some more
To silence you, you get more stuff
So you're a fatty bit of fluff
I want more food so here's the deal
I think that I shall learn to squeal
If that works, I will show you how
To do a really good MEOW!

Also for February, I wrote an essay
on the Guinea Pig and a story about
a Groundhog that lives in the nearby
state, about 15 miles from our house.
Her name is Greta. She was bottle fed
and lives at a small Zoo with deer,
other groundhogs, reptiles, camels,etc.
Her story was in our local paper.
