Walking the talk.

One more year of schooling to go. Then I'll be at school for the rest of my career :) Being the immense geek that I am, I already went and bought some textbooks, and have started reading them.

I'm looking forward to this coming year, but I'm also not really sure what to expect. A big part of next year will be being in a long-distance relationship for the first time. (Well, kinda, 3 years ago I started dating this one guy and we did the long distance thing for the first 3 weeks before I returned to Ottawa. But this is different; he'll be gone for 8 months, and it will be after dating for 3 months, not at the beginning.) Sniff.

After reflecting and writing so much about relationships and love and ideals and chastity, I now have a chance to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak. Ben more so than I has had a chance to witness about being in a Christian relationship; at least two co-workers have asked him about our relationship, specifically, about out sex life (I'm not even going to start on how rude I think that is, but whatever. I'll get used to it) And how surprised they are when he tells them that we are waiting for marriage!

Somehow, it seems to be more credible to talk about living chastity in a relationship when you're actually in one; until you are actually living it out, words can seem empty. Talking about your ideals and actually living them out are two totally different things.

And as challenging as it is, I wouldn't want it any other way.
