Subject: Saidia 1954
I was stationed at Sidi Slimane AFB from April '54 until April '55. I was stationed at Wiesbaden Germany and Fontainbleu France for a short time but it was determined that I was needed in French Morocco. Flew from Frankfurt to Casablanca, then took a bus from there to Sidi Slimane and was attached to the 15th Comm. Construction. From there we went TDY to the various sites for some tower, power, telephone etc. type work on a need basis. We finally ended up at Ben Gurier AFB in Marrakech working with the Atlas Construction Company installing poles, cable etc. Attached are a couple of pictures I found in our picture box. They may be of interest or not. I found your site very interesting. I cannot remember the other sites but I know there were more than one. Returned to ZI on the MSTS Gieger and finished my enlistment constructing the new 9th AF Headquarters at Shaw AFB, Sumter SC.
