WELCOME NEW RECRUITS!!!
Since the last publication of this newsletter we have had the pleasure to welcome a number of new troops into the ranks. Captain Bruce Cates(CoD) of the US/CS Marines (our marine commander at TOTB) and former captain of the 2nd North Carolina Cav has decided to saddle up once again. Although he lives in Ohio, this southern boy will find a way to jine us for a couple of events a year. We are honored to have him. Walter Williams(CoB) saw his first action with the 6th at Selma. We’d first met him at last year’s Helena event. He said he’d be back and he was true to his word. Tommy Stokes(CoA) tasted first blood at Citronelle, then Tannehill. He and son Mitchel(CoA) have both enlisted for the duration of this noble war! Joe Brate(CoB) walked on at Tannehill and was immediately sold on the hobby and the 6th cavalry. Glad to have him in the ranks of our unit. Don McWhorter(CoD) and Philip Law(CoD) are both transfers from the 15th Alabama Cavalry. Two mounted troopers is a fine pickup. Don and Phil have fought with us in several previous engagements.
