Grading Guide:
BATTERY:
After 30 + years of sitting in the car, the battery will be corroded to some degree. Many of them will not work anymore. If the car is missing the battery, it will not affect the value. I recommend pulling the batteries out, if it is not a prototype or pre-production model. It will enhance the car’s value in the future by preventing more corrosion.
Things to look for when grading or
purchasing:
1. Some of the long-chassis batteries have a chance at rejuvenation. You can test them by putting them in a car with good contacts, charging it up, and turning it on. Always pull batteries out of the chassis when finished to prevent corrosion.
