Sizzlerking’s Sizzlers
Grading Guide:
MOTOR:
The motor will usually not run. While it is nice to get one that does, it does not affect the price of the car. Non-running motors are considered normal when purchasing a car. Many restorers’ say that rebuilt motors will increase the value of the car. This is not necessarily so. Collectors prefer cars that are original, and not rebuilt. For example, a Cuda Trans-Am with clean original contacts and non-running motor will usually bring more than the same car with replaced contacts and rebuilt motor.
Things to look for when grading or
purchasing:
1. Motors can be transferred from one car to the other without affecting the value.
2.
