SAN JOSE EarthDay WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
4/20/96 On Saturday from 9am-4pm, many came and joined us in the celebration
of the San Jose EarthDay! We had 20 EVs on both display, and from 11 am
to 2 pm we gave rides to the public at downtown Parkside Hall (near Park
and Market). There were many EVs from all around the Bay area: our locals
from the San Jose Chapter, Santa Cruz, Palo Alto (SVEAA), Redwood City,
Sebastopol, San Mateo (SFPEAA), and more. There was a Solar Race vehicle
from a college, the new inter-urban "Trans2" small EV, and a nice showing
of the 'Zebra' (formally known as the Tropica'. A sexy, sporty EV, at a
nice price). There were Plenty of 'ZAP' Electric Bicycles, and a speedy
human/electric hybrid using a recumbent design.
Our many thanks to Glen Evan of San Jose Beautiful, for ALL his efforts,
working with the City of San Jose to make a very successful EVent. Many
more of San Jose's residents are more knowledgeable of their Electric Vehicle
transportation options.
03/24/96
On Saturday, Electric Auto Association (EAA) presence at the San Jose Mercury
News 10K race. Electric Vehicles (EVs) on Display in an adjacent parking
area. We had 4 of our EVs (cone by each - Left to right, Bob Mueller: 96V
LeCar, Don Gillis: 120V 914 Porsche, Marc Fontana: 96V Rabbit, and Bruce
Parmenter: 120V S-10 Blazer. Two nice persons (just before the foot race)
posing in front of Bruce's Blazer (Bob and Marc were in the 10k run as
well as our EV promotion). Hoods open, plenty of literature, and EV answers
given to the public who had many EV questions. With the Information tools
we share, most people were able to learn that their daily commute and driving
needs were well within an affordable, low maintenance, Electric Vehicle.
We look forward to seeing you at our Free meetings.

Members' Electric Vehicles (EVs) on Display in a San Jose Shopping Center
where KRTY Radio Station held their Car Show. Amongst the muscle cars (heavy
gasoline polluting) sections, and our Electric Vehicle (much less polluting)
section, we received plenty of interest from the many people that came
to the show :-)
* The EAA San Jose Chapter members participate in many EVents like this,
to give the Free EV information
the Public wants from people who drive Electric in their daily lives!
