Chelsea (est. 1744) was one of the earliest factories to concentrate on the production of enamelled porcelain.  Wares made during the triangle period (1744-49) Copied Rococo silver shapes and where often left white.  During the raised anchor period (1749-52) , decoration emulated Japanese Kakiemon porcelain, Vincennes and meissen.  The red anchor period (1752-60) is famous for animal and vegetable tureens, botanical plates., Meissen style figures and flower decoration.  The gold anchor period  (1756-69), imitated the sumptuous colours and gilding fashionable at Serves.

Bow (est. 1744) , also known as new Cannon, was less exclusive than Chelsea, producing wares and figures for a wider market.

The white chalky  granular soft porcelain contains bone ash, which tends to stain. The glassy blue tinge glaze is liable to crackle and pool around the base.
Some wares where decorated in vivid underglaze blue in Chinese Japanese taste , including blanc-de-chine plum blossoms, the quail pattern and Meissen style flowers.

The red anchor and dagger marks where used between (1762-76)

Lund founded in Bristol by Benjamin Lund, this factory (est. 1749) produced blue and white porcelain.

The hard wearing soft paste contained Cornish soapstone  , a substitute for the china clay used to manufacture hard paste porcelain.

The decoration frequently appears out of focus, since the heavy glaze used tended to blur the under glazed blue.

A restricted range of shapes included teapots, mugs, coffee cups, pickle dishes, and shells, and patty pans

Rarely marked, a few sauceboats and cream boats w here embossed with Bristol and the date 1750.

Vauxhall china works (est. 1751) was set up on the south bank of the river Thames.  The soft paste porcelain contained soapstone, with a creamy glaze  that sometimes looks peppered, or pitted.

Influenced by silver delftware, Chinese porcelain and salt glazed stoneware,  Vauxhall produced a variety of wares including tea wares, candlesticks, flowerpots, cream jugs, and more than 20 types of sauce boats.

Decoration included inky under-glaze blue, an Imari pallet of red, blue and gold, and brightly coloured European flowers painted in the Meissen style.
