Overview
The purpose of this page is to be able to introduce Takeuchi Naoko's Bishoujo Senshi character known as SailorUranus, or Ten'ou Haruka in her non-Senshi form, to the viewers of this site. Besides the basic information that can be given about SailorUranus/Ten'ou Haruka, other aspects of this beautiful character shall be examined as well.

Why SailorUranus/Ten'ou Haruka?
All right, before I risk sounding like geekazoid, I'd better begin explaining why I chose to make a Shrine for her. Of course, my reason would be the fact that she is my favorite Senshi. She is, in my opinion, of course, the coolest Senshi. Well, I do think all the Senshi are cool, but I like Haruka the most. I like her courage, her strength, her wisdom, her agility, her foresight...among other things.

Before I decided to make a web site, I have been surfing for good SailorUranus shrines. Unfortunately, there was only around one or two that are worth visiting--meaning, there was only less than a handful SailorUranus shrines that could give justice to such a magnificent Senshi. Most of the Uranus sites I saw were quite disorganized and are more than a little messed up in terms of information. More than a couple of sites would even describe Haruka as brash, arrogant, loud-mouthed, and worst--they say that Haruka doesn't think before acting. Oh, my mistake. That wasn't the worst description I've read about her. Late in 1996, I saw somewhere that she was described as selfish.

Well, of course, Haruka can be arrogant and a little unbending. All right, she IS arrogant and MORE THAN a little unbending. But I wouldn't say she's brash. In fact, she's one of the more refined Senshi I ever saw. I would definitely not say she's loud-mouthed. She doesn't even talk much, let alone be loud-mouthed. When she does talk, she talks in this very low, husky voice--except of course when she's screaming at Usagi's foolishness. But even then, her voice is still husky and low.

A Genius in Her Own Right
To address the "she doesn't think before acting" bit--well, one only has to observe the anime and read the manga to be able to see how she didn't just barge into the

Death Busters' hideout and say something like, "In the name of Uranus, I will punish you!" She and Michiru (SailorNeptune) became students of Mugen Gakuen, the Death Busters' stronghold. That was how they infiltrated the Death Busters' hideout. It was quite effective as one can see how much information they were able to get about their enemies. Now that's what I call strategy.

Haruka is also quite a genius. She wouldn't be able to attend Mugen Gakuen if she wasn't, as Mugen Gakuen is a school for the gifted. She's a track star, a racecar driver and also a motorcycle racer--and she's darned good at it! She even beat the living daylights out of the men she competed with! She also plays the piano, so we can say that despite her masculine appearance and manner of behavior, she's capable of enjoying such refinery.

Warrior of Selfless Loyalty
As for the "Haruka is a selfish bitch" description, I would just like to say that Episode 110 is just one of the episodes where I've seen a great sacrifice that Haruka did for the sake of her mission. The moment she found out that the talisman* that the Outer Senshi was looking for was inside her heart crystal, she took the gun that the Witch Eudial had and got her heart crystal out through that gun. She took it upon herself to get the talisman even though she thought that she had to die. That was an episode that brought tears to my eyes because that was not an act of selfishness, but an act that only a warrior who had tons of courage and loyalty to her mission could do.

These qualities, among other things, are what inspired me to make a web site for the magnificent SailorUranus. I do hope that I did her justice.

Thank you for using our services. Please call again soon. Good bye.

* The talismans were supposed to bring out the Holy Grail that the Messiah, the savior of the earth from destruction, was supposed to make use of. It was very late in the series that the Messiah was revealed to be SailorMoon, but that fact was already very obvious.
