Geography World has tons of links all about geography... it's well worth a visit, even though the site has a million banners!
You need maps, flags and more? Map Machine has got it. Developed by the mother of all geography magazines, National Geographic, this site should be on everyone's lists
Have NO clue which route to take from your house to your friends? What's the closest intersection of that new museum? This informative and highly practical site, Mapquest has many of the answers!
3-D Atlas is a serive provided by Compton's Encyclopedia. come here if you want timely world news, the best research links for every country, the coolest free downloads, and a Geographic Glossary.
If you're looking for detailed, up-to-date data on a country, go to the real experts. The CIA's World Factbook contains information on each country's geography, people, government,economy, communications and transportation systems, transnational issues and military.

If you're taking anything along the lines of American History, The History Place could be just what you're looking for... (TONS of info here) there's also a bit on Nazi Germany during WWII, but not much else.
For all of you wanting to learn more about Ancient Civilizations (or for you who are taking the course, for that matter), at Empires Past you can learn about ancient cultures, including those of ancient Egypt, Rome, the Aztecs and China. The Library section contains general information about the religions, government, society, art and customs of these cultures.
Eyewitness takes an interesting and educational twist on history, describing major historical events through the eyes of the people who lived through them. There are plenty of pictures too. Topics covered include the Civil War, medieval Europe, the Old West, the 18th century, World Wars I and II and 20th century America.
The History Net says its page is where history lives on the web. This might just be true; this site is huge, with more than 550 different articles from historians on every imaginable historical topic.
