Since much of my time is spent playing computer games, I thought it a good idea to at least say what it is I'm doing in the hopes of justifying the atrocious waste of time.
IRONSTORM is set in some alternate history wherein WW1 never ended but instead grew to engulf the World.  It's now 1964 and your sent on an important mission deep behind enemy lines.  The usual drill for this sortof genre.
It's rich in atmosphere and the main character, loosely based on the late James Coburn of "Cross of Iron" fame makes it a pleasant change from the usual testosterone pumped avatars one usually gets to play as.
The real joy for me is the multiplayer option.  For some curious reason the game is very popular with Germans and Scandanavians, so I get to try and kill them which (for me) is definately a plus point.
Sadly there are a few hicups.  During multiplay there is a problem of Lag and one can sometimes get stuck behind the armoury cupboard door.  So the game gets a C+.
What ever happened to Edward Carnby?  He seems to undergo an extensive rewrite of his identity every so often... perhaps to evade the balifs or possibly his ex-wives.  After all the threat of an "Evil Man was not Meant to Know" doesnt mean he has an excuse to miss his prearranged payment scheduel.
In AITD 1 he wore a daft green suit and sported a handlebar mustache while running as if his support hose was too small while being chased by neon coloured zombies.  In AITD 2 he wore a more dapper grey suit, although it looked dangerously like it was about to mutate into a Zoot Suit.  This time he looked like like a puffy President Clinton with a bad wig.  While trying to defeat undead pirates he took time off to dress up as Santa as well as a quick game of billiards to boot.  In AITD 3, which I never played, he dressed up like Roy Rogers much to the anoyance of the (yet again) kidnapping local undead.

SO what has happened to Carnby this time?  Well firstly he's thinner, rather flippant and looks like he's moonlighting as Gabriel Knight!!!!  You do get the option of playing the girl again, this time an academic called Aline Cedrac.  The music and dark backdrops are really spooky and on occasion one really does a shock.  BUT, like with the other AITD games your a slave to aquiring keys and opening all the doors.  Sometimes you skip ahead only to find yourself cut off or having to backtrack all because you missed some damn key.  Yet it fits into the AITD universe and it is a lot of fun to play.  B+
