NOTHNG
For those of you who
like their guitar sound relatively untouched. This patch lets
the true sound of your guitar come through - just a little compression,
no EQ and a bit of reverb. This is what I use with my BOSS
MT-2 MetalZone pedal. Good if you want to use a lot of pedals
and use the AX1G like a headphone amp or something.

DYNAMC
A very nice bluesy sort
of clean - the kind that really changes depending on your picking
style. Pick gently with the neck pickup and it's a soft, clean
chorus type of sound. Pick a little harder and it breaks up into
a harsh bluesy sound. This is GREAT if you're playing solo guitar
because you can go from soft to loud just by changing your picking
style.

FENDER
Get a Fender tone out
of any guitar. Great for blues, heightened mid-end and high-end,
biting, just starting to break up... Great for Nirvana clean stuff,
Jimi Hendrix clean stuff (try Little Wing). This patch
sounds drastically different depending on the pickup you choose.
With the bridge pickup, it's sharp and harsh. With the neck pickup
(especially with the tone down a bit), it's bluesy and very, very
nice for clean soloing.

FLOYD
Dreamy Pink Floyd tone.
This is one of my favorite clean patches - it just sounds so goddamned
professional. Try playing Comfortably Numb -- beautiful!
Good for very slow, soft songs aimed to put the listener to sleep.
I suppose the pop world would love this...

For Testament's clean
songs, like Return to Serenity and Trail of Tears.
For the distorted stuff use MTLCA.

IZZY
Izzy Stradlin, former
rhythm guitarist of Guns N' Roses. Most of the "clean"
stuff he plays is not completely clean but slightly broken up
like a harsh blues sound. This patch best suits Ain't it Fun
from The Spaghetti Incident? For the other, cleaner sound
they use on songs like Don't Cry, use GNR
CLN.

MELLOW
My favorite clean patch.
A nice, bass-rich, pure clean sound. No effects, just the right
amount of compression and tone shaping. It's bass-rich but still
very clear. Perfect for soft RHCP songs like Californication
and Under the Bridge. Perfect for anything clean really.
With the right combination of pickups and volume, you can almost
make this patch sound like an acoustic guitar. Almost.
