He braved a look into the small kitchen shuddering as he passed.
Where once was love
Love is no more
He couldn't believe what happened. Everyone...everything gone.
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try
He walked around the soundless room. Trying to grasp this new reality. To understand what went wrong. Where everything fell, collapsing into nothingness.
These tears we cry
Are falling rain
A muffled sob and he sneaked a peek in a room. Hands hiding, body coiled and tense. Dry heaves in a ragged pillow.
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
If someone would have told him what was going to happen maybe he would have been a bit more prepared. Readied himself for the blinding pain.
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home
People cramped together and yet none of them aware of the others presence. Friends, Family, torn with sorrow.
So in the end
I'll be what I will be
He stood in the room peering down at the many sleeping bags. Too tired, everyone too drained to last another hour, another minute.
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me
He guessed it could've been worse. It could have been one of them. One of those soft faces drawn with wisdom far beyond their years.
Now we say goodbye
We say you didn't try
He'd never admit it. Never fess up to the fact that he had cared...that he still cares. It's just not something he does. Not that he would ever have the chance again.
These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!
She stands by the windows, an air of superiority, but he can see it. The bottled emotions. He knows he shouldn't care. Shouldn't be bothered, with what she had done to him. But he couldn't find a reason to hate her.
And you will weep
When you face the end alone
Then a wisp of brown, a slash of black. The boy...no man stands beside her awkwardly, unsure of what to do. So much pain in his stance, sorrow filling his eyes.
You are lost
You can never go home
He can't help but watch the two stand beside one another looking out the dusty window. No longer a reason to shade the rising sun from gripping inside the room. The blond sobs and the man takes her into his arms tears falling from them both. The disheveled man looks his way and its as if he has been spotted by that dark pain filled eye.
You are lost
You can never go home
There's a pull and suddenly its as if he's getting swallowed up again. A burning inside far more painful then anything he's ever felt. Its feels like eternity where he is, stuck in the empty abyss. He can hear nothing, feel nothing, he's sure it must be hell. His punishment for all the crimes he committed. And then light and the burning and another pull.
No longer trapped, no longer lost. Frightened he looks around unaware of his new surroundings.
"Spike."
