The WFW was founded on July 26, 1998 by two brothers. These two boys were sick of watching mediocre wrestling and terrible storylines. They wanted to create their own storylines and characters and have them turn out the way they wanted them so, in Slick's bedroom, the WFW was created.
It was very cheap to begin with. The first matches were held on 3'X6' beds with a person wrestling a pillow or a stuffed wrestling buddy. Theme songs were played on a keyboard and the PPVs would sometimes take days to finish, due to the fact that they were held in Josh's sister's room. Some of the matches were corny and made no sense, but hey, we were just having fun for God's sake.
It wasn't until about mid-October of '98 that the WFW started taking off. Crowds of about one or two began showing up (one time a record of 4!). Matches were held in the living room on blankets and PPVs were finished in one night! By around Christmas time the first theme song on a CD was played. "Back in Black" by AC/DC was the music to the newly formed Generation Destruction of Nation X (the alliance of Generation X and the Nation of Destruction). Soon everyone was receiving CD music. To this day only a few have keyboard music (about 3 exactly).
Now it's bigger than ever with a few people asking about it, the addition of pyrotechnics (though it's a cheap grill lighter), and a strobe light. Coming soon, however, it is expected to expand even more with matches being held outside and using real ladders, plywood tables, and boxes (some flaming). So don't miss the great action coming up soon with PPV updates and other weekly updates. Enjoy!
Important Note: Most characters of the the WFW are non-existent people. Although others are, they are portrayed by the owners of the WFW. All char- acters are wrestled by the owners, only under the name of the character they are wrestling as. All rights reserved.
