Welcome to my Bikes Page
After not riding for around 9 years, I decided to start again. I went with the Yamaha Thundercat 600 option, held on to that for a year, then went with a Yamaha R6 - my dream bike. I still have the R6, but it looks pretty different now-a-days (as per the pictures).
We normally do breakfast runs on Sunday mornings, starting at around 07h00 in summer, and 08h00 in winter. These rides usually include a good 100km burn followed by a breakfast at one of many places, then a good burn home. Cops aren't really a problem on the roads we take, so we do tend to be a bit irresponsible.
About twice a year, we go up to a place in South Africa called Mpumalanga. The roads there are awesome, and the scenery even better. I'll include some photos here in due course.
We have about seven race tracks in South Africa, of which we frequent four of them regularly, including the famous Phakisa Freeway, where the South African GP is held. Normal track days cost R120-00 (about $12-00) and track schools cost about R400-00 (about $40-00).
I used to do a bit of off-road as well - on a KDX200. Since my last accident, (Easter 2002) which cost me a broken collar bone and 3 broken ribs, I decided this was for the birds!
I was lucky enough to be invited to a track day with Nitro Nori Haga at Kyalami Race Track in South Africa (November 2001). For a mere $90-00, I got 4 hours of track time with Nitro - Really cool!
My mate Bryn (ex crazy racer, current crazy rider) on his Trumpet (Triumph 955i) at Swartkops Raceway. Scraped the fairing pretty badly on some of the tight turns. (June 2002)
My mate Schnaffer on his CBR 600 F4i - cool bike for a cool guy! (November 2001)
This is me on my R6 at Kyalami Race Track in South Africa. (August 2001)
Me and my mate Wayne (on a Honda Firestorm) at Kyalami. (August 2001)

My V&M replica. This was done after I put the bike down while on holiday. I though a good rework of the whole bike was in order. Over and above the spray job, we cleaned up the head, balanced the engine bits and increased the compression. I'm still running her in, but I can feel that she will be a very strong R6.
My 1993 KDX200 - lovely bike, just hurts a bit when you fall off!
