Sometimes the most at the moment disasters have the most wonderful conclusions.......
Early in the week, while sewing with my 1968 Singer,I was finishing up a purse to sell. My Father strolls in & reminds me to think about what I'd like for my birthday.(in August) He wanders away, and I confess at that moment my minds' a blank, until from the guts of the Singer I start hearing a crunch,.....crunch.....SNAP! And everything stops. The machines broken, paralyzed. I tell him we need to drop it off at the repair shop that raised it from the dead before, which we do. After hearing the hefty fee for a nylon gear,at my dads request,we start looking at new machines. And I wind up with a new Janome 2007le.(Happy Birthday!) It's beautiful-and finally with a rested day at home I feel ready to give her a test run.
Musically I need to pick up the mandolin. It's been a busy week. Between my work, appointments and errands,I feel like it's been one of those non stop weeks. The next 2 weeks won't be any different, except I may as well start sleeping over at my part time day job.
On a more personal note,an individual of interest had a conversation with me that answers several questions that I've had about him...without my asking. And I'm glad I never assumed anything because the truth was so far afield from any scenario I could've come up with it was unbelievable. But it made his dealings with me not only more understandable, but downright honorable. I respect him and his choices, and time will tell what happens. In the meantime, all I can do is maintain an open mind and not get attached to outcomes.
