See how a musician/Bard goes thru her daily adventures!
Entry for July 02, 2007
It's nearly July 4th and as usual, the sudden and sizable upswing in daytime temps has taken me somewhat unawares. An "emergency" call to my hair stylist who hasn't seen me in a dogs' age has an opening in the morning, and after pleasantries & a wash she mercifully and stylishly removes around 7" of hair that feels like an oven. No more tangles, split ends,or looking like Queen Boudicca. Just in time too-the word is,as hot as today was,it will seem wonderfully cool compared to what the rest of the week will be. Why oh why couldn't I live closer to the beach?
I suddenly dream of owning a summer cottage in Alaska.
The $20 dollar Kustom tube amp I got from an online auction arrived today-and it sounds spectacular! Not to mention that I can carry it around-the great part of having 12 watts.
I watched some Beatles videos today and I must say if it's one thing I enjoyed about them,it was that the group always seemed in a good mood. Comical, even. One of my pet peeves over the last 20 some odd years with most rock bands is that they look & act as tho they've been constipated for 10 of them. Always grumpy, ever present chip on the shoulder, and never knowing their pants size. (Except for Cheap Trick & Rush)
Venturing into unknown territory,I started learning the solo to "smoke on the Water" I fell in love with that tune the first time I heard it on the radio-I was a grade schooler then, and it was just the most amazing thing to listen to. It's even more fantastic to start playing the songs that as a kid, hearing them would make you say "if I could play that,I'd be good!"
And no,I haven't forgotten about love. I'm just waiting for moves to be made-after all,I am an old fashioned 20th century fox who is also a gen x-er (well,I think they need to make a new thing that works better for those of us who seem to fall inbetween the cracks of boomer & x-er).......a Xoomer! That's it! Hey I like that.......
