Well it was bound to happen. Life sometimes takes you back to the beginning of something,and that can be a blessing. I went to my musical Alma Mater where I studied classical guitar during my high school years. Braught back a lot of good memories & I got a baseball Tee of the store to wear. I have been thinking of checking on my classical guitar lately which has been in storage ever since I returned home in '02. I haven't touched the thing since my mother passed that same year. It wasn't a conscious decision- I was in shell shock over the fact that it had happened so suddenly. A storage unit was rented to store the items that I was able to bring back with me-the house I grew up in is small,and there was no way I wanted to clutter it up with boxes & boxes of hastily packed things. The guitar went in there too,and I began a long journey of healing,inwardly & outwardly. And I just forgot the guitar was in there-in fact I've yet to sort thru many of those boxes. Anyway,my buddy Carnelian,also a mando/guitar player,has been at it on the guitar-playing here,there,& everywhere. I spied a book of medieval guitar music on eBay & nabbed it after hearing the samples of the songs.And now I plan to go to the storage unit this next week to get the guitar (and hope it's still in good shape) Amazingly I don't remember much of what it looks like....not even the design of the Rosette around the sound hole. And I'll need new strings for it. Which means another order to my fave online music store!
I'm also knitting like a fiend again-making lovely scarves to sell,and I'm planning on makinig some pairs of fingerless gloves to place up for bid as well.
