Clearing out the past
Despite my neat tidy 360 page,I confess to having a bad habit of cluttering. I can stack like nobodys' business, and tho it sounds like I'm bragging,I'm not. Clutter can make one absolutely paralyzed, because there are things you want to do-which means you have to move a bunch of stuff. Usually laziness wins, and you just zone into something else (like the computer or TV ). I had read a book called "Moving On" by Sarah Ban Breathnach sometime last year, and even tho I recognized myself on many of the pages, and swore I'd do something to free myself of the piles I had become hostage to,after a few meager attempts I stopped. Recently I got the bug to once again unpile & sort, Sure enough, under a pile of whatnot, was the book. I flipped the book open and it lands on the uncluttering part. I re read sentences I had underlined,,,,and today I decided was the day. So After the pre-game show,I went in and worked for most the afternoon-as synchronicity would have it,an organization that collects donated goods deposits big bags every now & again on everyones' porch. Well,I started sorting thru clothes that were the wrong size, worn out,10 yrs old or more,as well as items that reminded me of unhappy moments....which makes me wonder why I kept them. Out went things that reminded me of my ex,my moms last hospital stay,( a pretty knick knack but poison none the less...she passed in '02) and other painful memories. I filled up the big bag as well as at least 3 other grocery bags. Somehow a lighter feeling was entering the room (and me) as I kept sorting & bagging. What amazed me is the more I cleared, the more energetic I was getting. Total opposite of what I'd expected. Usually one thinks of housework as sheer drudgery, something to be dreaded and sure to leave you whipped. How perfect the timing.....a waning moon,Samhain around the corner. I even unconsciously started to clean moving in a widdershins direction around the room. Perfect for banishing & cleansing on a spiritual level. No the room isn't finished yet but much improved. I'm wanting to do more but also want to keep a moderate pace that promises more productivity. Thank you Sarah B!
Now to some classical guitar playing-I got a book of Yule carols I want to try out.
