The Age review
The Television magazine supplement of The Age (June 30 - July 6) has Smallville reviewed in TV EYE (pg 3), with a 2-star rating (out of 5! wat the..grrr) for Pilot and Metamorphosis. The article here:

A cute American guy with a different sort of secret features in Smallville. We've had adult Clark Kent and Superman's studly 20's. Now we get Krypton's Creek - Clark as angst-ridden teen dealing with budding superpowers as well as his crush on the delectable Lana Lang. What's next, Mike Myers voicing a baby Clark in Look Who's Flying?
Actually, teen Clark (Tom Welling) can't fly. No sign of specs or tights, either, though the red S crops up in the pilot this Wednesday night. It starts on familiar ground - alien baby hurtles to Earth and is adopted by eminently reasonable farm folk (played here by The Dukes of Hazzard's John Schneider and Annette O'Toole, who played Lana Lang in the Superman III).
dBut baby Clark is also accompanied by a meteor shower that kills Lana's parents, causes little Lex Luthor to lose his hair and showers kryptonite over Smallville, Kansas. That last point is crucial, because the alien substance creates endless mutants who need to be battled by someone super strong. With its earnest chats, longing glances and peppering of pop songs, it's no surprise to learn Clark's Warner stablemates are Dawson's Creek and Felicity. The kryptonite thing will wear thin really fast, but Luthor - who befriends Clark - is interesting and Lana and Clark are just as purty as can be.
Channel 9's Smallville
Yay! Smallville has finally reached Aussie shores! Clark Kent's journey of adolescence begins today with his beginnings in 1989 and his life in the present, 2001 (oops! 2002 now...), while beating Electroman and Bugboy along the way to keep Smallville safe once again. 2 hours of action and drama...oh, what a night this has been! Sweet dreams everyone!

Metamorphosis TV Week's Pick of the Day

Channel Nine's Smallville ad campaign
Channel Nine has accelerated its Smallville promotional campaign! The advertisement for Smallville has been shown at almost every advertisement break, and even took up half a screen in the credits of Gilmore Girls (another WB show!!). I expect this to increase in intensity as there's only 3 days left till Pilot airs...

The Age's Smallville coverage
Today's (29 June) The Age newspaper (TV Highlights, Green Guide pg 21) has a introduction to Smallville (albeit slightly opinionated) that briefly covers the very basic stuff about Smallville. It starts off with a summary of the relationship between Clark, Lana, and Whitney, then comments on Clark and Whitney. Smallville is described as "reminiscent of Dawson's Creek, down to the corn-fed father-son homilies." What do you think?
