_____Lockdown
"Lockdown"
original airdate: Jan. 19, 2006
What's up with Lex:
Lex is stressed out with one week left to go in the election, but soon he has one more thing to worry about. Two cops who witnessed the spaceship's arrival have taken over the Luthor compound. They want the spaceship, and they want Lana too. Unfortunately, Lex doesn't know where the spaceship is; it disappeared several weeks ago, and he hasn't had the heart to inform Lana about this development.
What's up with Lana:
Lana asks Clark to work on homework with her, but she really wants to do other things with him. However, when she asks Clark to kiss her, she is not happy with the result. She wants to know why Clark is behaving so strangely, but Clark wants to know how long Lana and Lex have been studying the black spaceship. He thinks she and Lex should not dwell on it. Lana, who is appalled by Clark's insensitivity, wants to know the truth about the ship and will find it out whether Clark likes it or not.
What's up with Lois:
Lois is planning a massive ad blitz before the election. She is determined to defeat Lex. But Jonathan wants to know where the extra money for such a media plan is coming from. Finally, Lois tells him that Lionel is contributing to his campaign. He is upset, as expected. It is only until Martha tells him that he will owe everyone, not just Lionel, who contributes to his campaign in one way or another. Jonathan is still very cynical of Lionel, but he lets the issue go. Later he decides he will pay Lionel back with the money he earned from selling some of his family's land.
What's up with Clark:
Clark continues to struggle with the idea of telling Lana about his secret. When Lana is kidnapped by the cops who want to know the spaceship's whereabouts, he locates the GPS underneath the hood of the car by the right front tire. With the serial number and Chloe's investigative tools at the Daily Planet, they find out Gregory Flynn, a policeman who witnessed the death of his fellow cops when the spaceship landed, is after Lex and Lana.
What's up with Chloe:
Clark asks Chloe to see what's up with Lex and Lana, but Chloe refuses to be the go-between. Chloe advises a heartbroken Clark to tell Lana his secret if he wants to save their relationship.
How it ends:
When the cops abduct Lana, they take her to the Luthor mansion. Gregory and his accomplice want to know where the spaceship is. Lex can't tell them, and Gregory shoots him. Then Lex and Lana hide in a chamber for safety. While Lex barely hangs on to life, he vaguely tells Lana about the dream he had around the holidays about their possible life together. Soon she decides to bargain with the cops; she will show them the ship if they get Lex some medical attention. Gregory says he's seen worse and wants to see the ship now.
Lana takes them to the hangar, where Lex hid the ship. Gregory and his fellow cop set the timer on a bomb and knock Lana out cold. Clark arrives at the Luthor mansion just in time to save Lana from the bomb. However, she does not know that Clark saved her. She is aware, though, that Lex took a bullet for her.
