What's up with Lana: In Metropolis, Lana gets a surprise visit from Clark - and also a surprise package at her door. She opens the package and presumes the rock is a meteor rock. The accompanying card includes a message from Lex; he thought the rock would be helpful for astronomy classes. Clark is not too happy about Lex's gesture. But before he can get too upset about that, the rock cuts him. Clark flees from Lana's dorm room just as Chloe arrives.

What's up with Clark: After Clark cuts himself with Lex's gift to Lana, Clark's behavior changes instantly and dramatically. A truck chases Clark's truck down and crashes into it. The truck flips over, but Clark is okay. Then he receives a call on his cell phone; the caller ominously claimes that he knows who Clark really is and then hangs up.

What's up with the Kents: While Clark's father considers running for the state senate versus Lex, Martha Kent worries that someone will find out about Clark's powers. Clark says that someone already does and recounts what just happened to him. Jonathan Kent just tells his son to act normally.

Then Lionel Luthor pays Jonathan a visit. Lionel asks Jonathan to take his help. Jonathan questions Lionel's intentions. Lionel explains that it is the best for everyone if Lex doesn't win; Lex is too arrogant and may become too powerful if he gets involved in politics. Then Clark sees Lionel offering money to Jonathan and Lionel saying he knows about Clark. When Jonathan returns from his chat with Lionel, Clark accuses his father of conspiring with Lionel and puts a chokehold on him. It is not until Chloe comes in with green kryponite that Clark calms down, but he escapes. This is the first time that Jonathan and Martha Kent learn that Chloe knows the secret too. The Clarks tell her about red kryptonite, which has a negative effect on Clark. Chloe tells them she thinks it is silver kryptonite that is causing his uncharacteristic aggression.

What's up with Chloe: Chloe knows something is wrong with Clark after he leaves her and Lana's place. Clark comes to Chloe with a license plate number of the truck that ran him down; Dr. Fine provided him that information because Dr. Fine says the same truck has been following him as well - he concludes Lex is after them. Nonetheless, Chloe runs the plate number and tells Clark that there is no such number. But that is not what upsets Clark. He sees in her e-mail that she has been corresponding with Lionel, and he sees a message that reads, "THERE ARE NO SECRETS." Chloe insists that she has not told anyone about Clark's powers, but he does not believe her.

What's up with Lex: Lex insists to Lana that he did not send her the meteor rock. Lana accuses him of sending the rock to tear Lana and Clark apart, but Lex denies this. She also brings up how he denied that he knew anything about the spaceship that Lana saw. He tells her he only did that to protect her, and then he proceeds to show her the spaceship. Then Clark sees Lex and Lana get very close and eventually kiss. Clark attacks both Lex and Lana.

What's up with Dr. Fine: Dr. Fine comes to Lana's rescue when Clark is about to harm her. Dr. Fine fights Clark with his own special powers. This is when Clark realizes that Dr. Fine is also a Kryptonian.

How it ends: Clark visits Lana in the hospital. She reassures him that she would never be with Lex. She also says she knows it was the silver kryptonite that sent Clark into a rage and gave him all that strength.

Dr. Fine and Clark talk about the burden of being a Kryptonian. The teacher warns Clark not to trust just anyone, but Clark asserts that he has faith in his friends and family. After Clark leaves, Dr. Fine takes a rock that looks like the one that Lana received and was taken from the Luthor mansion. His body consumes the silver kryptonite in it.
