_____Thirst
"Thirst"
original airdate: Oct. 27, 2005
What's up with Chloe:
Chloe applies for an internship with The Daily Planet. Her dreams of writing for that paper come to a halt when Pauline Kahn, the editor, tells her she didn't get the internship. However, Chloe campaigns hard for another chance, and Kahn makes a proposition. She will give Chloe a job if she can bring a respectable story back to her desk. Chloe gets to work on a item about the Tri Psi sorority at Metropolis Univerisity.
What's up with Lana:
At the last minute, Lana applies for Metropolis University and gets in. However, she doesn't have any housing yet. She considers making a sorority house her home. She rushes the exclusive Tri Psi sorority that only allows one girl into the organization a year. Lana is that one girl this fall. However, this is not just any sorority. This is a sorority of vampires, and they initiate Lana by sucking the blood out of her. She is now a vampire too.
What's up with Clark:
Clark is concerned about Lana moving to Metropolis, but Lana reassures him that their relationship will remain intact. However, things do change when school starts. She parties hard and sleeps late. Clark doesn't like this at all, and, with the help of Chloe, tries to learn more about the sorority.
What's up with Professor Fine:
Clark's professor still provides commentary in his class about tyrants, and specifically Lex Luthor and his corporation, LuthorCorp. Lex is not happy with this, since he endows Kansas A&M. Professor Fine knows about Lex's secret research that is conducted with some help of the university, and he continues to question the purposes of such research. Fine's extensive knowledge of LuthorCorp comes in handy when he visits Chloe in the hospital, the result of a rabies-infested bite from Lana at Tri Psi's Halloween bash.
What's up with Lex:
Lex, after denying any knowledge of a virus, knows what has infected Chloe and the women of Tri Psi - the illness is the result of Project 1138, an experiment involving meteor rocks that infected bats. One of those bats infected Buffy, the president of the Tri Psi sorority, six years ago. A LuthorCorp employee also got the virus, but LuthorCorp developed a cure based on kryptonite. Lex gives Clark some of the serum, and Clark injects some of it into Lana's heart when she tries to attack him again. Meanwhile, Lex warns Clark about Professor Fine.
How it ends:
Chloe turns this tale into a story for Pauline Kahn. Kahn thinks the story is tabloidy but does acknowledge Chloe's talent. Chloe asserts that she has facts to support what happened to the Tri Psi sorority. Kahn then decides to offer Chloe a job. Also, Chloe's testy roommate, Karen, leaves Metropolis University after the vampire story breaks; Lana moves in with Chloe after the sorority shuts down.
