Sports

I am a huge sports fan which is why I've chosen to devote a whole page to it.  I am a member of the Cedarville University Women's Soccer team. Unfortunately, I tore my ACL in October 2001 and again in September 2002, so I haven't really gotten to play much. I still love being on the team, though, and I so glad I decided to pursue it. I am looking forward to finally getting to play in the fall! In high school, I played soccer for Sporting Futbol Club and my high school team, starting at left fullback.  Since I'm a defender, I have very few stats!  I love the Columbus Crew and U.S. National Teams.  I recently attended my first international soccer game at Crew Stadium on September 11th.  Some of my favorite players are Brian McBride, Eddie Pope, Carlos Llamosa, and Peter Nowak.

I ran track in HS for two years and then had to give it up for the new girls soccer team instead.  My sophomore year was the school's first year in the IHSA so we were able to go to the state meet.  I was a part of the 4x100m and 4x200m relays that went and I also qualified in the 200m.  That year we also participated in the Journal Star Honor Roll Meet at Peoria Stadium in the same three events.  I hold the Long Jump record with 15' 6" (not my best event :-(  ), the 4x100m relay with :52.3, and the 4x200m relay with 1:50.7.  My awesome, fast relay teammates were Sara Gentry, Talia Pate, Melissa Criss, and our alternate Tasha Hunn.  The best HS track coach I've ever had (also the only HS track coach I've ever had) is Dave Triphan (he'll run you into the ground, pick you up and run you into the ground again).

Now for miscellaneous fan loyalties.  I'm a huge fan of NCAA Men's Basketball, especially the Big Ten and Bradley University.  I also cheer, of course, for Cedarville--Go YellowJackets! I am a Cubs junkie and loosely follow the rest of MLB as well.  Basically if Chicago has a team, they're #1 for me.  (The exception being the Fire, 'cause the Crew was around first.)  So go Bulls, go Bears, go Blackhawks.  And go ChiSox except when you're playing the Cubs.  I enjoy golf, though I've only played real golf (aka not miniature) once and I was pathetic.  My fav golfers are Tiger Woods (duh) and Greg Norman.  Auto racing--eh.  It takes skill but not athleticism. That about sums it up!
