Hi! Ah, today is December 20. Christmas is coming in few days. Well. Because the year 2000 is such a big deal, Christmas doesn't get as much attention as usual. But Christmas is...I was so excited by Christmas when I was little...Um. As I get older, Christmas became just an event. I guess I am Japanese after all. I don't have much attachment to Christmas. Um. Well, SMAP does SMAP X SMAP Christmas Special every year. Because of that, I can't have any private celebration for Christmas every year. That may be the reason why I am not into Christmas. I guess if I have a family and children, it will be different.(laughing) In that sense, Um, Christmas is not a big deal for me at this point.

Hi!, The theme of this week is "Millennium". I will talk about the millennium goods today. The millennium goods are sold at many places as the limited items, such as wines and Champaign. Um...I haven't bought anything related to the year 2000. I should buy something. Um. I guess the sales of wine and Champaign are great since these are essential for the celebration. Um. But, I don't like the sounds of "so-and-so goods".(laughing) However, the number 2000 is surely beautiful when it is written. Um. May be because of that, I want to have the 2000 yen bill soon. (Japanese government will issue 2000 yen bill next year.)

Hi! In two days, it will Christmas Eve, then 25^th is Christmas. Well, this is little early but I will talk about New Year 2000 for SMAP. I will tell you which TV show SMAP will appear. Ah, there will be SMAP X SMAP Live on January 3^rd. Therefore, we can’t take any vacation at New Year. Usually, such as last year and two years ago, we had the New Year vacation. I took my family to overseas during my New Year vacation. But for the year 2000…um…we have a live TV to do. Of course, we earn our money by working. Um…We exist because of our work. So, we have to work even during New Year. It will be a long live on TV. We can’t tall you the details of the show. Ah, please look forward. Well, some of you might travel during New Year. Wherever you are, please watch the show since we will be working without taking any vacation during New Year.

Did you buy any Christmas present? I wonder, you know, the image of Christmas present is for the lovers. Christmas is more for the couples than for the families celebrating or exchanging the gifts. Yeah, Christmas has some sweet feelings of the lovers. Many songs for Christmas are somewhat like love songs. Christmas, in some sense, is an event to intensify the mood of the lovers. Therefore, Christmas presents in general are geared toward the couples. Um...I wonder... I don't have anyone particular to give the present. Um. I want give a present to myself for Christmas. I want to buy something big for myself. How do you think?

Hi! Ah, tonight is the Christmas Eve. Well, what is your plan for tonight? I guess the radio will play Christmas songs all day today. Um. Many singers released Christmas albums or did Christmas concerts. But, just listening to the music from the radio will be enough for me now. Um. I wonder what I will do tonight. I want to send e-mails to the friends overseas. Then...even late in the night, I want to go out for driving my car to see the atmosphere of the town. I wonder what time I will be done with my work tonight. Ummm. Well, I guess many people are working late tonight. I guess there are not many people, even the listeners of this show, who can spend ideal Christmas. Ah, may be, not many people have the lovers to spend Christmas.
