Good evening everybody. This is the time for STOP THE SMAP. Today is December 10th, Thursday. It is getting really cold. Tonight, Goro Inagaki will be hosting the SMAP night.
Now, this is Goro Inagaki and I have been hosting the show alone since yesterday. It is lonely doing the show alone in the studio. Well, I will do my best to have a fan. O.K. let's read a post card. This is from Aki who is living in Ota district in Tokyo.
He is a wine expert.) gave you 1973 Chateau La Toure (a very expensive wine produced in the year Goro was born.) You drank it when you were drunk and did not remember the taste. Did you try the 15 years old ram you got from the magazine editor who you gave an interview lately?
I think drinking is more fan with friends than drinking alone. Please tell me about the drinks which you enjoyed recently. Lately, I enjoy drinking wine while I watch your drama "Sommelier". Also, I went to Hokkaido with my friends who are also your fans. We went to a bar in Asahikawa. We enjoyed drinking there while we talked about you."
Gee, I was the subject of cocktail conversation! (laughing) I am glad you were talking about me. I wonder what you talked about me. Um¡K You wrote me a post card to ask some questions, but I am curious what you were talking in the bar in Asahikawa. It must be very cold there. Ummm, the bar in Asahikawa sounds very classy. I wonder what you drank. That's kind funny that I am asking all these questions.
Ah¡Kmy life is evolving around wine lately. Everyday, there are wine, wine, wine, wine and wine. Even in the dialogues of drama are all about wine. (laughing) Well, but I am glad that wine is not something I don't like. Imagine, even for the drama "Sommelier", if I didn't like wine, it will be terrible playing a sommelier character and receiving the knight of the wine award. I even went to Bordeaux, France for this drama. I am glad that I like wine. I really feel it was great doing this drama. The filming for "Sommelier" will be over soon. I really enjoy doing this drama.
Yeah, it is true that I opened 1973 Chateau La Toure when I was drank. I think I wasted a good wine. By the way, in "Sommelier", we used another 1973 wine Chateau Muton. You might not be able to see through TV but the color of this wine was near brown. You know, it's not a good example, but the color was similar to Coke. When you start pouring wine in a glass, you can see the color better through the glass. Even at this point the wine looked pretty dark. Then, when the glass became full, it looked like deep red wine color. But, if I look it closely, the color of this wine is close to brown. Well, the wine is almost 25 years old. It is aged very well and may be that's why the color is changing to brown.
The taste, in case of Chateau La Toure, I don't remember as I wrote about it somewhere because I was so drunk. But, Chateau Muton, well, it tasted like something which passed the best time to open. You know, the drama covered about how to drink wine. How should I explain this? Ah, drinking wine is quite interesting and quite classy. The taste of wine changes by time. The same wine tastes different when you drink it right after you open it and thirty minute later. That's why people say wine has history even after the bottle was opened.
Well, when it comes to old wines, such as the wine from 1973. To tell you the truth, the life of the old wine after opening is about 15 minutes. Of course it is depending on each wine, but in case of Chateau Muton, the good taste lasted only 15 minutes. Probably, the same thing can be said for Chateau la Toure although I really don't remember well because I was drunk.(laughing) Come to think about it. The wine was matured for 25 years ,but when it is opened, it is good for only 15 minutes. This is not really good comparison, but the life span of wine is as short as the life span of some insects. It is kind fanny. I feel like I am talking like Joe Satake, my sommelier character, when I talk about wine.
Oh well, I agree that drinking with someone is more fan than drinking alone. Drinking alone¡K.I usually went with my friends for drinking. But lately, I have been very busy filming the drama. I don't have a time to go out for drinking. Then, when I go home, I drink something , ram or whatever, to keep my body warm before going to bed. Lately, I begin to enjoy a little drink, a nightcap, before going to bed. I need to sleep well for the filming next day.
I want to talk about the 15 years old ram which was mentioned in this post card. But, I have to stop here. I will talk about it some other time. I know I can talk about drinks forever. I hope you enjoy my talk. There are only two episodes left for "Sommelier" the drama. There are some story development in the drama. I was wondering what will happen to Joe Satake, my character. To tell you the truth, we have not finished the filming yet. Please look forward the ending of this drama. See you.
